Position Overview
Bluelime Technical Services (BTS) is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven Director of Business Development to lead growth initiatives across the Western United States. This role is responsible for identifying new market opportunities, expanding BTS’s client base, and driving revenue growth aligned with BTS’s EPC, project management, engineering, inspection, and construction support services.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in developing regional business strategies, generating new business opportunities, and collaborating closely with operations and technical teams to deliver client-focused solutions. This position is accountable for achieving or exceeding regional sales and growth targets while strengthening BTS’s presence within the utility, energy, industrial, infrastructure, mining, and major project sectors throughout the Western U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional business development strategies aligned with BTS’s growth objectives.
- Identify target markets, client opportunities, and strategic accounts that align with BTS service offerings.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, market gaps, and client needs.
- Develop relationships with utilities, EPCs, industrial clients, contractors, and project stakeholders across the region to generate new business opportunities.
- Generate and manage prospect pipelines, account plans, and sales strategies to support sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, and technical teams to support proposal development, pricing strategies, and client presentations.
- Lead business development activities including client meetings, networking events, conferences, trade shows, and industry engagement initiatives.
- Support contract negotiations, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and commercial discussions with prospective clients.
- Coordinate and manage proposal opportunities from lead generation through contract award.
- Present BTS capabilities, service offerings, and value propositions to prospective clients.
- Track sales activities, forecasts, business opportunities, and market intelligence through CRM and reporting tools.
- Provide regular business development updates, market intelligence, and performance reporting to executive leadership.
- Support strategic partnerships and regional client development initiatives across target markets.
- Act as a brand ambassador for BTS while reinforcing the company’s professionalism, technical expertise, and commitment to client service excellence.
Additional Responsibilities
- Stay informed on industry developments, market conditions, and emerging opportunities within the utility, energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
- Support operational teams in identifying and pursuing strategic project opportunities.
- Participate in proposal review meetings and provide feedback on business opportunities and competitive positioning.
- Gather market intelligence and competitor insights to support continuous improvement and strategic planning.
- Mentor and support junior business development or operational personnel where required.
- Assist with corporate marketing initiatives, branding efforts, and strategic growth planning.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in business development, sales, project services, or operations within the utility, energy, infrastructure, industrial, mining, or construction sectors.
- Demonstrated experience developing new markets and expanding strategic client relationships across the United States.
- Strong understanding of project delivery environments including project management, construction management, inspections, technical staffing, or field execution services.
- Existing network and established relationships within utilities, contractors, EPC firms, industrial clients, or major project organizations is considered a strong asset.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding business development and revenue targets.
- Experience supporting proposals, commercial negotiations, and contract development activities.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to communicate technical and operational solutions effectively to clients and stakeholders.
